Individual drilling requirements may be shaped by restricted access, limited working space or an unusual combination of operational constraints. We begin by understanding the purpose of the work and the field output required, so that any proposed solution responds to a clearly defined need.
A considered review establishes the conditions that the equipment and crew will encounter. Ground conditions, access, services, handling arrangements and the proposed sequence of work are assessed before the method and scope are agreed. Feasibility and available capability remain the basis of any commitment.
The required output should be defined in terms that both the client and field team can use. Before mobilisation, the parties should agree the deliverables, handling arrangements, acceptance criteria and reporting expectations. This creates a common basis for assessing the work as it progresses.
A non-standard requirement still needs a clear and practical approach to safety and environmental care. The risk review should address the selected method, equipment arrangement and work area, including any interaction with the client’s other operations or site restrictions.
